You will be able to drop off your sleeping gear and eating equipment off a Lyons Copse, but you will be required to carry bits and bobs to make a Guy, these will be judged and the scores added to our overall total. If you have any old clothes that we could make a guy out of, bring them to scouts on Friday and we will decide what we are going to take. We will also have to wear stout shoes or boots (those wearing trainers will be disqualified!) hat, gloves, warm clothing, trousers (NOT JEANS), waterproofs (top and bottom), spare change of clothes, torch with batteries, personal first aid kit, snacks and plenty of water.
The theme of the night hike is, well, I imagine, Guy Falkes. I have been told that if we wish to have a head start we should know a bit about the story so visit the following website: Don’t tell anyone!

Okay, basically, for all that dont know, the acorn is a incident night hike competition similar to Mitch’s hike on summer camp.
Teams from all scout troops in the district walk the circular route, stopping at bases along the way based around a certain theme. Usually, you will be given the grid reference of your next base from each checkpoint, so you may not have a pre-defined route to walk.
Thats the quick info and we need a team or two, so post your concerns or talk to Dave as I’m sure deep inside his scary/skinny body theres some niceness that will tell you all you need to know
