Firstly, to all those that turned up and packed bags, or manned buckets - a very heartfelt thank you. Like I said before, the Group only survives because those that really care about it are willing to put in the work to raise money. Well done to all involved.
We have just counted up the coins (and some notes!), and the grand total raised for the day was:
£874.00
Which is only twenty pounds less than at Asda. I should also mention that the Leaders were approached by two different charitable foundations with suggestions to approach them for possible support, so this day’s work could prove to be a lot more lucrative!
A big thank you again to all involved, and wishing you all a peaceful Christmas and a happy new year.
After a busy term, we say goodbye to Jake who has been with us for 2 and a half years.
The scouting activities are not over yet; please remember that we are bag packing on Saturday 23rd December at Broadcut Sainsbury’s. Try your best not to miss this as it is a fun way to raise money for the troop so we can repair our hut and replace old and worn things. It is only a small amount of time, so no feeble excuses please.
Remember we raised £907.25 bagpacking at ASDA so at a busier time of year, we could raise even more!
To keep the bagpacking going for as long as possible, please can:
Beavers arrive from 10:00 - 12:00 noon, Cubs arrive from 10:00 - 14:00 and Scouts arrive from 12:00 - 16:00. Although these are core times, any Cubs or Scouts who wish to attend earlier/later will be very welcome.
To everbody that is going, which is…….well everybody actually!
Remember that we need to be in the alley by 18:45 to start bowling at 19:00, so make sure you get to the alley (we will assemble outside) no later than 18:40.
If you have sleeping kit to transfer into one of our cars, please allow time for that too. I will be there from 18:30 waiting for you.
