On Sunday 12th November (that’s this coming Sunday), we will be taking part in another Remembrance Day Parade.
We will meet at 10:20 am outside the British Legion (at least I presume it’s outside the British Legion - it normally is….just follow the uniforms you’ll see everywhere, and then look for the Scout ones).
We will march to the cenotaph outside Trinity Church and observe the wreath laying and two minutes silence at 11:00. We will not be required to attend the church service, so pick up time will be a little after 11:00.
Full uniform is required, and this includes neat shoes, polished, and all items of uniform neatly ironed. It will probably still be very cold, so make sure you put an extra layer under your Scout Shirt, as you will not be permitted to wear a coat during the parade.
I expect good attendance at this one (as usual), so will not accept any lame excuses. Like I keep saying, there are only two parades a year, so there is no reason not to attend either one.
I will distribute a letter about this on Friday.
Just to remind the PLs, there will be a meeting tonight at 19:30 - 21:00.
I want to discusss and de-brief the Acorn, so if Joe and Paul want to come along, they can.
Also on the agenda is planning for the rest of the term (six weeks left), including the Patrol Leader’s night, plans/goals for next year, and what to do about Mitch and the SPL situation.
And, of course, anything else that you need to discuss.
